1960's Acid green silk chiffon beaded vintage babydoll dress
Label; LILIANE of Highgate/Haute Couture.
The bodice is lime lace embellished with organza lurex ribbon roses, large oval iridescent pailettes, faceted crystal beads and green crystal studs. The bodice has a round neck ,edged with glass bugle beads and has sheer lace beaded short sleeves, with scalloped hem. The bodice is cropped and ends just under the bust, from which yards of circular cut lime silk chiffon, fall in fabulous folds.
This silhouette was called the 'baby doll', and had a sort of inverted 60's paradox, as it portrayed a contradiction of sexy innocence.
Londons swinging sixties, a party at David Baileys or dinner with the Redgraves, this would have been your dress.
